Amber sunset inspired styled shoot in sun-drenched Australia

One of the things we love so much about working in this industry are the incredible people we get to meet. Friendships form with like-minded people and we’re lucky enough to count make up artist Emily Fausset as part of our circle.

Emily grew up in the UK but is now based in Australia and, like the rest of the world, found herself at a loose end last year during the pandemic. She wanted to use the time wisely so came up with the concept for this stunning inspiration shoot at Strickland House and Milk Beach Sydney.

“Due to the stillness of our work from covid restrictions in the industry across the globe I felt the need to create something magical to inspire not only brides but other creatives during these hard times.” Emily said. “The virus not only affected my brides in Australia but for those I was scheduled to travel to in the UK and the beautiful isles in the Balearics. During conversations with my dear friend Sally, owner of UK bridal accessory brand Tilly Thomas Lux I asked her to ship her beautiful pieces to me, so I could produce a collaboration shoot with amazing vendors to create a magical story under the electric amber sunsets in Australia to bring her pieces to life.

The concept was inspired by the mesmerising timeless crowns of Tilly Thomas Lux. The creative teams focus was to capture the iridescent glimmers from the reflective golden light, as the crystal stones of the bridal headpieces dance in the setting sun behind the city skyline.

This golden ‘magic hour’ that wedding photographers refer to, created a luminous golden glow on the skin of the beautiful model Hailey, set against the earthy textured line formations carved into the beautiful rocks at Milk Beach, reflecting the amber tones in the magic of an Australian sunset onto the texture of the gowns and veils.”

The creative beauty duo of Emily and Hairstylist Jodie Day drew inspiration from their fashion editorial background to create an timeless look emphasising model Hailey’s gorgeous natural features of dewy skin, a soft minimal bronzed eye, neutral toned balmed lip and textured effortless middle part waves.

Stickland House and its grounds provided the perfect backdrop for a global feel showcasing Australia’s historic architecture with a European vibe. Photographer Morgan Wood captured the dancing light beautifully on the gowns supplied by The Bridal Atelier and Moira Hughes, and styled by Meg Warby against the crisp white walls, grand columns, textured stoned walls for an old worldly feel.

“This shoot holds a special place in my heart, by reconnecting both the place where I grew up in the UK, and my home now in Australia, Emily said and we’re so pleased to have been a part of it! We hope you love these images as much as we do.

Love and sparkle,

Team TTL xxx
