A Golden Feather Headpiece for a Glamorous Wedding
Its here!!! Wedding season is upon us… probably my busiest but happiest time of year. Sorry its been a while since my last post – those of you who share my Insta Stories will know I’ve been beavering away in my sunny studio, creating some extra special bespoke beauties!
I adore couples getting wed any time of the year, but there’s something really special about spring / summer weddings. Perhaps it’s feeling of hope and excitement as the skies clear to blue, the warm sunshine lingers into late evening, the cold cocktails (at wedding receptions or not..!) and the freedom of dancing around barefooted on the grass!
Which leads us to share our latest Tilly Thomas Lux, couple to get married – Harry and Natasha. This delightful duo kick started our wedding season on the 1st of April 2017 at St Barnabas Church in Ranmore. They celebrated with their loved ones afterwards, at the incredibly glamorous Hampton Court House - one of the most picturesque venues in England!
Natasha had dreamed of a free flowing, dreamy, feathered wedding outfit since she was little and having found this, in form of a gorgeous feathered skirt, from the amazing Halfpenny London – she turned her focus to the all important accessories to complete her look.
As most of you know, here at TTL, we are all about our brides – and making the journey towards their big day completely stress free and exciting. Before the days of my spacious studio I travelled to a coffee shop with a bag full of sparkles near Natasha’s office so we could meet easily (of course multiple visits there meant more cakes from the delightful patisserie… designing is hungry work!)
Having swooned over Natasha’s truly special skirt and already being a feather lover myself….I was instantly inspired to create her ultimate headpiece! She says of our meeting:
“When I first met with Sally in early 2016 we were looking at gold flower hair bands. Sally had just started work on her new Celestial collection and when she saw the photos of my feathered skirt, she popped out some examples of her new feather materials and the rest was history…”
“As soon as Sally and I started emailing I knew instantly that she TOTALLY got my ideas and it would be fab! Also I have never met anyone before who uses as many excitable exclamation marks and random capitalised words as me (!!) and so I knew we were supposed to work together!!”
Natasha’s final piece was an ethereal inspired headband of feathers, in pale shiny gold, elegantly overlapping each other to form luxurious swirls. Further glamour was injected into this eye - catching design with a mix of carefully placed sparkling, Swarovski crystal navettes (swoon!) that glittered “just the right amount” against Natasha’s gorgeous dark hair.
Dave Watt’s Photography kindly captured the intricate details on her headpiece and of course many happy moments of the couple’s wedding day, which we are pleased to share below.
I think it goes without saying that Natasha’s bridal style is effortless elegance at it’s finest – the delicately lace capped top, perfectly complimented by the skirt-of-dreams… is relaxed, but feminine and with her dark flowing locks and that incredible headpiece created by yours truly, she looks every inch the perfect bride!
“My TTL headpiece was probably the easiest thing I arranged for the whole wedding – and was definitely worth it as it was one of first things my husband commented on when we got in the car after our service – he said he loved it – and he doesn’t usually notice even when I get all my hair cut right off!!”
I honestly could not ask for more than that effect! Congratulations to Harry and Natasha - thank you so much for sharing my lovelies!
With love and sparkle
