Amy Leaf Hair Pins with Bespoke Bridesmaid Necklaces for a Romantic London Wedding

Lovlies, I think the first flowers are officially raising their pretty heads to the sun and heralding the start of the sleepy warm evenings of spring. Hurrah, I love this time of year! The light in my gorgeous new studio is so inspiring, I’m loving the opportunity to meet so many of you beautiful brides in this space. Speaking of meeting you fabulous fiancées, are any of you attending A Most Curious Wedding Fair in Shoreditch this weekend? I’ve been happily planning my very sparkly stand and getting ready to meet some truly awesome women.

If there’s one thing I’m truly grateful for, (and there are many many things about living out my glittery daydream of a job that I am indescribably thankful for) it’s the opportunity it gives me to get to know some of the most amazing ladies. So if you’re attending the show this weekend, please come and say hi - I’ve got oodles of pretty jewels for you to play with.

Today I’m so very proud to be sharing the wedding of Kavita and Bobby Adams with you all. These gorgeous lovebirds wed on 26th November 2016 at The Landmark Hotel in London’s Marylebone. This luxury, 5-star location was the perfect backdrop for Kavita and Bobby’s romantic celebration, lovingly organised by their very sweet friends.

“Our wedding was put together by a handful of our friends. Two of my old colleagues planned the day for us, two much-loved university friends did our flowers, and another hand wrote all of our place names, menus and invitations in beautiful calligraphy.”

“My dad’s friend did the catering and a couple of wonderful girls I have got to know over the years styled mine and my bridesmaids hair and make-up. We let each person be creative and deliver what they believed would best suit our day, and the result we thought was stunning - rustic, romantic details against a glamorous, classical setting.”

Working in the wedding industry I have seen my fair share of truly beautiful dresses, but when I first set eyes on Kavita’s embroidered Temperley London beauty, my heart did a happy little flutter. The deep V at the back, the pretty little cap sleeves, the gentle sweep of that train - it looks like it was made for our girl. And Kavita fell for one of my personal favourite pieces while shopping for her wedding gown. The Amy Leaf Pins, like all Tilly Thomas Lux designs, are made from start to finish in London, and I so adore the subtly twinkle of their crystal navette stones.

“Both my dress and Veil were by Temperley London and my shoes were from Jimmy Choo. I wore the Amy Leaf Pins, which fitted perfectly into the understated but glamorous feel we wanted the wedding to have.”

Happily my journey with this lovely lady wasn’t over after, and before her wedding Kavita and I worked together to create some bespoke necklaces for her best girls, complementing the design of her hair pins. I can’t describe how genuinely happy it makes me to know that I’ve been a little part of a making a bride feel special on her big day. So when Kavita contacted me in need of something blue to complete her look, I was delighted to craft a custom pin for this lovely lady to treasure.

“After choosing and ordering the Amy Leaf pins, I contacted Sally on a whim to see if she could recommend an independent jeweller for necklaces for my bridesmaids gifts. I had searched the high street high and low to no avail, so was over the moon when she offered to make them for me. We based the design on the pins, and it felt so special to give my best friends a one off piece to remind them of our day together.”

“Sally’s magic didn’t end there. Just a few weeks before the wedding I realised I had nothing blue and when I mentioned this to her, a couple of days later a fourth Amy Leaf pin (this time with a beautiful blue stone) arrived in the post. It was perfect, and when my sisters get married I plan to lend it to them as something borrowed, as well as blue.”

It’s always fascinating to see how brides style their TTL pieces, and the way Kavita has nestled her pins in her relaxed half up-do is all kinds of pretty. Photographer Barney Walters has captured some incredibly moving and emotional insights into the couples’ day - Kavita’s dad’s face as he embraces his beautiful daughter is what weddings are all about; the overwhelming joy of celebrating true love with the people most important to you in this world.

“The ceremony was very personal and special, it’s the only part of the day which I can clearly remember every detail of, I loved every second of it. Barney has photographed many of our friends’ weddings in the past so we knew we would love having him at our celebrations and feel completely at ease with him. We could not be more proud of the photographs he delivered for us and will treasure them forever.”

I love to have a little nosy into what makes my brides tick and who inspires their day to day style, (in Kavita’s case, the undeniably cool Kate Moss) so I thought it only fair to share with you all some of the inspirations behind my designs. Every Sunday I’ll be posting a style icon shout out on the Tilly Thomas Lux Instagram in honour of my heroes and influencers.

So far BIBA and McQueen have been my featured muses and there’s so much more to share. It’s so important to pay homage to the people who build us up, make us strong and fill us with the desire and the confidence to follow our dreams. So stay tuned at the end of each week if you’re interested in the sparkly, shiny, bouncy thoughts jangling around in my brain!

If you’re as obsessed with Kavita and Bobby’s romantic day as I am, head over to Instagram and tap in #tadamswedding for a whole bunch of stunning candid snaps. I am truly grateful to this gorgeous couple for allowing me to share a little insight into their celebrations, and especially to Kavita for her incredibly kind words about Tilly Thomas Lux - you ladies are the absolute lifeblood of my brand and will alway be at the very heart of everything I strive to achieve. Girls, we got this. (Well, you do - I’m still trying to work out how much sparkle is too much sparkle to fit into an uber to the Most Curious show this weekend without being blacklisted…)

With love and sparkle,

Sally x
